Monthly Money Digest: Horoscopes for the new moon in Gemini

New moons and full moons act as chapter-markers in our lives. Venus joining the main stage of this new moon is asking how we can proliferate liberatory ideas about money while using our money. Venus is freshly reborn, having just emerged from her superior conjunction with the Sun, is full of ideas about how to build trust in your own knowledge. This particular conjunction in Gemini occurs once every four years, so you can use that time frame to look back on previous years and find context clues based on what was occurring for you at the time.

The last time Jupiter moved through Gemini was 2012-2013. What was happening for you financially then? What was your relationship to resource at the time, and what’s different about it now?

Money and trust go hand-in-hand. The question of this new moon is: how does the state of your finances affect your ability to trust yourself and others, and what would need to change for you financially in order to build that trust?

Aries Rising: This new moon may just bring the renewal that you were expecting from last month’s new moon in Taurus, your 2nd house of resources. It may feel like you’ve been moving too quickly to stop & smell the flowers, let alone sit down to make plans for future flowers to grow, but now is a time that calls for crunching the numbers, if not for the purpose of making beneficial plans for your money, then to see how much progress you’ve made. Take particular notice of what’s changed for you financially since June 2016.

Taurus Rising: With so many planets in your 2nd house, your money is the main character of this new moon. A pileup of planets, even including the benefics Venus and Jupiter, doesn’t always mean an abundance of ease and riches rolling in. It does, however, indicate the beginning of a period of heightened activity in your financial sector. You yourself are currently experiencing renewals and a changing of tides and these will have a direct impact on your relationship to money in the next 12 months, 4 years, and even 12 years.

Gemini Rising: The first step to building trust with yourself when it comes to money, unfortunately, is to stop avoiding it. Right now, there are plenty of internal conversations going on about how money interacts with different areas of your life, and it can feel a bit overwhelming. The annual new moon in Gemini is a convenient chapter-marker for you, prompting you to reinvigorate your relationship to money by getting playful with it. Remember: you are not your financial situation.

Cancer Rising: Feeling lost in the sauce? You’re not alone, and you’re also not at any more risk of self-sabotage than you are normally. Isolation is not the answer to your money problems. Building trust with yourself does not prevent self-sabotage; it merely renders self-sabotage unnecessary. It takes the juice out of that predictable pattern of chaos, and now you must squeeze elsewhere to get that sense of control. Sometimes, what we call self-sabotage is actually just an internal disagreement about what’s possible based on your current situation.

Leo Rising: This is a time for wildly dreaming & scheming. What would you do with your money if you knew you’d always have enough? The goal is to get familiar with the sensation of enough. Hatch your plans now and prepare to review & revise them in August. When in doubt, get more specific than you think you need to; your meticulousness now will pay off later (but sooner than you may expect).

Virgo Rising: Lately, any thoughts of money management may feel akin to being naked on a stage, freshly reborn & incredibly visible. You don’t actually need to be hypervigilant to get what you want. Surveillance will not make you feel better about your situation, nor will it help ease your shame about money. Take solace in the fact that nobody can ever truly tell what’s going on in other people’s bank accounts just by looking. Stop comparing yourself to others and start comparing yourself to you, 4 or 8 or 12 years ago, so you can plan to impress yourself in another 4 years.

Libra Rising: Money seems to be taking its time catching up to all of your ideas–embracing patience and playing the long game will serve you well. July brings an opportunity to play catch-up, so write down everything you’re absorbing now. The fresh knowledge in your mind will need to be bolstered by evidence, research, and tools to truly financially support your most cerebral endeavors. The impatience you’re feeling right now is a gift in disguise; don’t squander it.

Scorpio Rising: What happens when you treat money management like it’s a confrontation, rather than a negotiation? How does that affect your ability to trust others when it comes to money? Reclaiming your independence financially is a great way to establish agency in your life, however, the only way out is still through. Now is the time for difficult conversations–including with yourself–to avoid landslides further in the future.

Sagittarius Rising: It can feel difficult to join in on the festivities when you haven’t yet faced the things keeping you stuck in one place–very much the way your finances have been feeling lately. There may be external pressure to conform to a financial path of some sort, but when you strip everything down to its foundations, the path can seem nonexistent. Embrace your pathlessness, for now, and allow whatever naturally arises from this existential boredom.

Capricorn Rising: Trust for you right now means knowing that you can look up from your work to breathe & think about other things & trust that your money won’t all disappear overnight. Trusting others allows for a better flow of resources for everyone, but right now, asking for help may be the mountain you are climbing for the time being.

Aquarius Rising: You may want to throw caution to the wind lately, but you’re smart enough to know the consequences won’t be worth the fleeting feeling of freedom that comes from saying “fuck it.” Responsibility is boring, but when it comes to money, you’re constantly having to decide between FOMO now or FOMO later. Choose the FOMO now.

Pisces Rising: TBH, the image I got when trying to write this horoscope was that of a house that’s on fire and the bones of the house are still visible, but everything inside has been reduced to ash. It’s frightening to feel like you’re not in control, especially with money, but this is a good time to examine where perhaps you’ve been clinging so tightly to certain foundational truths that the foundations are beginning to crumble. The meaning is getting mixed up in the mess. You are correct to maintain a stance of flexibility with your money at this time.
